a question for the wise …

The goal is to live life lovingly, filled with compassion and forgiveness and acceptance. But how do you do that without letting everyone walk all over you?

  1. By making sure that you apply that compassion, forgiveness and acceptance to yourself first and foremost, and never compromising it.
These do not mean you put yourself aside. you have to put yourself firstin order to truly accept or forgive, because you know why you do those things in the first place.
If you dont know why you do things, your motivating factors based on your true feelings and beliefs, then any action taken will echo hollow, and be difficult to assert. know who you are and what you want, and ironically, the rest will follow.

  2. I don’t know that I am tuned in to my inner wisdom enough to answer this any better than you, but I send many hearts!!

  3. I’m here in reply to the comment you left on my blog tonight… My husband and I were honestly in the place you are at right now two winters ago (http://mytopography.com/2006/12/30/the-fire-of-meaning/) and I kept wondering if and how the hell we were ever going to be in a different place… and now I am so thankful, beyond it, that we stayed, kept talking, kept trying to dig down to the stuff underneith all the stuff at the surface. It’s hard though, and staying is only worth it if both of you are there to show up with full hearts every day promising at the very least this: that you will not intentionally hurt the other, and that you both are willing to grow.

    Hugs to you.

  4. Sometimes by saying scary-to-say things. (Not because of wanting to control the other person or make them see that they are wrong. And not to hurt. Because they need to be said like medicine. Like light.)
